Susan brings her passion for advocacy, sustainability, and community wellness to the heart of Phoenix Group Foundation. With decades of experience in environmental and mental health advocacy, she offers a grounded, people-first perspective that strengthens our mission for lasting change.
Susan Austin Martin is an environmentalist, an organic landscaping consultant and Mental Health Advocate.
Susan has worked for Clean Water Action, an American environmental advocacy group created in 1972. The group focuses on canvassing and gaining support for political issues and candidates. Susan was a canvasser and fundraiser focused on educating the public about the environmental hazards of using coal as a primary power source and why they should consider donating to campaigns of, and voting for, candidates that oppose it. Susan has also been a mental healthcare advocate for over two decades, as well as a consultant on landscape design while working for a large regional organic garden center.
